Overview

The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) 2002 set specific requirements for identifying hazardous substances and areas, identifying the risks associated with them, and implementing controls including the selection of equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The Regulations require that employers provide appropriate information, training and instruction to employees and contractors.

This awareness course will improve delegates’ understanding of DSEAR legislation, its application within industry and associated compliance requirements.

Course Content

  • Overview of DSEAR legislation and requirements.
  • Hazardous Area Classification.
  • Hazardous Area Equipment Selection.
  • Potential Ignition Sources.
  • Fire and Explosion Hazards.
  • Risk prevention, control and mitigation measures.

Content will be tailored to reflect the DSEAR hazards and processes on site.

Delivery

The Trainers are experienced Process Safety Engineers who will bring practical application and learning through case studies and examples. The course includes engaging activities to allow delegates to demonstrate understanding.

Duration is half day – one day depending on content.

Course Certificate

Delegates will receive a Arthian ‘Certificate of Attendance.’
