Our team of hydrologists carry out hydrology assessments in line with the industry standard methods outlined in the Flood Estimation Handbook (FEH), using catchment data from the FEH Web Service and flood estimation software such as WINFAP 5 and ReFH2.
Hydrology is the study of the movement of water through the water cycle, including evaporation, evapotranspiration, rainfall, runoff, infiltration, and storage.
Hydrological assessments help to estimate the flow or volume of water in a watercourse, or through soils. The outputs of these studies can be used to quantify the pluvial, fluvial or groundwater flood risk to a site or to inform a proposed site layout or SuDS design.
