The Role
- You will be working on and/or managing the delivery of industrial projects from concept to detailed design.
- You will provide technical expertise to support in the successful delivery of assigned projects.
- You will have excellent communication skills liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
- You will contribute to design risk management and mitigation.
- You will develop, or input to, project proposals and tender submissions.
- You will prepare technical deliverables for assigned projects ensuring compliance with our ISO 9001 quality systems.
- You will work with Directors, Business Development and Marketing teams to develop business opportunities with new and existing clients.
- You will meet clients to define scopes of work and develop proposals.
- You will support the technical development of junior staff.
- You will have the opportunity to line manage and grow a team (optional).
Qualifications
- You will be BEng, MEng or MSc qualified in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- You will have 5+ years’ experience in an engineering consultancy and be chartered with IStructE or ICE (or have a clear plan to achieve this).
Experience & Skills
- Experience in the management and delivery of civil & structural design within industrial environments such as oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, manufacturing or defense.
- Experience / understanding of all stages of the design and construction process.
- Experience in site visits, checking site conditions/resolving problems with contractors.
- Experience writing clear and precise technical reports and comfortable presenting findings/recommendations.
- Experienced in meeting clients and scoping projects.
- Experience in line-management and staff mentoring would be beneficial.
- Can work to tight timescales and manage multiple projects at once.
- Competent with Microsoft Office.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Good verbal communication.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence and the ability to attend client sites, as required.
