Updated Carbon Footprint 2022/23
26th March 2024 - Written by Alison Bateman
As a signatory to the Pledge to Net Zero, we have made a commitment to deliver a greenhouse gas emissions target in line with a ‘well below 2°C’ climate change scenario – covering buildings and travel as a minimum. Our target includes a commitment to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions (inclusive of business travel and staff commuting) by 27.5% by 2030, from a baseline year of 2019.
Our latest organisational carbon footprint for FY 2022/23 is a total of 226 tCO2e, this represents an overall increase from our baseline figure of 112 tCO2e which is a result of opening new offices subsequently increasing the number of employees from 44 employees in 2019 to 101 in 2022. The increase is also due to improved accounting of emissions from business travel, as well as reporting additional Scope 3 categories of Fuel & Energy Related Activities and Homeworking. Our normalised intensity metric of tCO2e per employee, however, has decreased 12% since the baseline year from 2.5 to 2.2 tCO2e per employee.
We will continue to report our emissions publicly, publish thought leadership articles, improve our accuracy in reporting, and seek to reduce our total carbon footprint in line with our Pledge to Net Zero commitment and Business in the Community support commitments with our clients.
