We are seeking to recruit a Senior Environmental Planner / EIA Co-ordinator to join our growing team, with the potential to base yourself at any of our U.K. offices (Glasgow is preferred). The current core environmental planning team includes planning, EIA, landscape and visual assessment, graphics and visualisation. The wider consultancy team includes noise, ecology, air quality, water and land contamination specialists which the environmental planning team have access to. Current projects include renewables and building developments, for industrial and commercial clients and we are engaged with delivering on the net zero agenda.

The individual should complement current expertise in order to service new opportunities and grow the team. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and position requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • a BSc or MSc in EIA / Environmental Planning/ Town Planning discipline;
  • membership of IEMA or RTPI (Graduate, Associate etc);
  • a successful track record of supporting the delivery of projects through the planning process;
  • experience of supporting EIA Project Management and ES/ EIA Reporting;
  • an understanding of UK planning systems and EIA, including best practice guidelines;
  • excellent report writing and client liaison skills;
  • experience of time management and working on a range of projects;
  • adaptable and flexible, and
  • full UK driving licence.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience with regards to some / all of the following areas/disciplines, preferably in a consultancy role:

  • Experience of supporting the delivery of projects through the planning system;
  • Experience of working on planning, Electricity Act consents and EIA projects for some key sectors including residential, renewables, minerals, waste or industrial developments;
  • Experience of project management and managing multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Experience the authoring of Environmental Reports/ EIA Reports, Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements and Pre-Application Consultation Reports etc.;
  • Effective communication with a range of stakeholders, which may include colleagues, partner organisations, statutory and non-statutory consultees and sub-contractors;
  • Reviewing and understanding inputs from the range of specialist sub-consultants;
  • Experience of business development and the winning of work.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for marketing and business development activities to support the workstream of the environmental planning team.
