The Senior Industrial Environmental Consultant will assist clients with environmental legislation compliance (including special waste/chemical compliance e.g. REACH, CLP, transboundary shipments, waste classification, EPR), and the development and delivery of the management systems and training to manage and improve environmental impacts (e.g. ISO 14001, net zero strategy compliance, ISO 50001, ISO 9001). We are seeking to recruit a Senior or Principal Industrial Environmental Consultant to work within the Sustainability Group.
You will primarily work from home (in the UK) in the short term, unless this is unavailable to you. You will be provided with all IT equipment and software/services require to facilitate your efficient home working. Long term arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate – we are a flexible employer and are willing to consider any arrangement that is desirable to you.

The successful candidate will work in a client-facing role with lead responsibilities for excellent project delivery, valued outcomes and great customer service. Our clients are wide and varied, bringing diversity and interest to the project portfolio mix. You will be working with consultants, compliance auditors, circular economy professionals, chemical/process engineers and mechanical engineers across Mabbett, but based within the Environment Group.
Clients include food and drink companies, pharmaceuticals, construction, manufacturing, engineering, defence, and commercial sectors. We work in the UK and overseas. We are looking for a candidate to lead and grow our industrial environmental consulting compliance and improvement service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience with regards to two or more of the following areas/disciplines, preferably with industrial and consultancy experience including both project scoping/budgeting and delivery:
The successful candidate will work within a supportive, friendly and driven team, with access to over 50 professionals in environmental, safety and engineering disciplines. The position may require travel (including occasional overnight stays) throughout Scotland, the U.K. and overseas depending on project requirements. Company pool cars are available for business travel – a valid driving licence is required, valid passport and photo ID is required for air travel. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.K.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and position requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess an Honours or Masters Degree in Chemistry/Science, Industrial Environmental Management, Engineering, Sustainability, Waste, Energy, Quality Management, Manufacturing Excellence, or similar, and have a have a full U.K. driving licence with clean driver record. Professional chartership(s) would be viewed favourably.
