Our Team can conduct Wintering Bird Surveys between November and February and carry out initial assessments year-round.
Wintering Bird Surveys (WBS) are often required if a site is on or close to habitats supporting migratory and/or wintering bird populations (such as geese and swans) as the removal or damage of those habitats can results in migratory failure and decline of bird populations.
This is of particular importance where a site is close to a Statutory Designated Site such as a Special Protection Area (SPA) which may be designated for wintering birds.
Our Team can conduct Wintering Bird Surveys between November and February and carry out desk studies and initial field visits year-round to determine if your site is likely to require a Wintering Bird Survey.
